Strawberry and cranberry polyphenols improve insulin sensitivity

Polyphenols, natural substances found in plants and red fruits, have numerous benefits for human health. Useful in cardiometabolic prevention and reduction of postprandial hyperglycemia. In a study just published, the effects of daily intake of 333 mg for six weeks of polyphenols extracted from strawberry and cranberry on insulin sensitivity, glucose tolerance, insulin secretion, lipid profile, and inflammation and markers of oxidative stress in overweight or obese insulin-resistant subjects (No. 41). in a parallel, double-blind, controlled and randomized clinical trial.

A 6-week dietary intervention with 333 mg of strawberry polyphenols and cranberries improved insulin sensitivity in insulin-resistant overweight and obese non-diabetic subjects.
