The role of chia seeds in the control of hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, and diabetes

Consumption of chia seeds (Salvia hispanica L.) has increased in recent years due to their high content of omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants. However, these seeds also have a high concentration of essential proteins and amino acids, whose biological role has been correlated to antihypertensive, hypocholesterolemic and hypoglycemic effects.
