The anti-obesity and weight lowering effect of ginger

Ginger is able to modulate obesity through a series of potential mechanisms including increasing thermogenesis and lipolysis, suppression of lipogenesis, inhibition of intestinal fat absorption and the control of appetite . This review analyzes several convincing evidences to support the efficacy of ginger of managing obesity while awaiting future clinical trials. Ginger consumption significantly decreased BMI, serum insulin and HOMA index.
