The influence of the microbiome on aging

In the current issue of  Cellular and Molecular Life Sciences highlights recent research showing that microbiota in invertebrates directly and indirectly influence the host genome to affect longevity. Beyond the presence or absence of bacteria, specific bacterial species have unique effects on host aging.
