Intermittent fasting contrasts obesity

Intermittent fasting has been shown to provide health benefits. It favors adipose thermogenesis and metabolic homeostasis as reported in  a study recently published in Cell research. The researchers exposed to 4 months. The animals were fed for two days and the third one fasted. After 4 months the animals subjected to this diet showed a significant weight loss compared to the control group fed every day, in an isocaloric regime. Intermittent fasting favored the production of brown adipose tissue compared to white, increasing thermogenesis with a mechanism mediated by macrophages.
